Choosing feels different from being told

A list presents options. A vending machine implies a selection, and that small shift in framing makes a recommendation land as a suggestion the reader might act on rather than an opinion being announced at them.

The mechanism also carries a joke without needing one written down. Watching the slide drop is enough personality for a post that would otherwise be a plain list of favourites.
