Boards are built for glancing, and so are feeds

A departure board has one job: be legible from a distance to somebody in a hurry. Borrowing that layout means your slide is already designed for the conditions a feed actually provides.

Flipping one row at a time gives the deck a rhythm too. Each slide changes a single line, so the reader tracks the change instead of rereading the whole board.

Schedules, line ups and updates

Event schedules, release timelines, a run of announcements, a content calendar, sessions at a conference. Anything that is naturally a list of rows with times or statuses attached.

Keep each row terse. Split flap tiles are monospaced by nature, so a row that runs long stops looking like a board and starts looking like a caption in a strange font.

Before you export

Keep rows short. Board tiles are unforgiving with long text.
Flip one row per slide so the change is obvious.
Use a consistent status word across rows, such as on time or delayed.
Put the row people are waiting for at the end.
