Carousel generator

A carousel generator turns a short piece of writing into a set of matching images people swipe through as one social post. This one runs in your browser. Pick a template, type your slides, download them at the size the platform you post to expects.

  • Bluesky4
  • X (Twitter)4
  • Instagram10
  • Facebook20
  • LinkedIn20
  • Threads20
  • TikTok35

5 slides is over the limit on Bluesky (4) and X (Twitter) (4). Those posts get rejected rather than trimmed, so hide or remove some, or split the carousel across more than one post.

This carousel lives in this browser. An account keeps it.

Everything you have typed here is stored on this device only, so it is gone the moment you clear your browser or switch to your phone. With a PublishQ account it belongs to you instead:

  • Your carousels are saved, so you can come back and edit them.
  • The images you upload stay in your media library.
  • Your logo is stored once and reused on every carousel.
  • Brand name, handle, and colours stop being retyped.
  • Publish straight to every social account you connect — no downloading, no second tab.

Why carousel posts beat single images

A carousel asks for one small thing, a swipe, and every swipe is more time spent on your post. Platforms treat that time as interest. A deck that holds people to the last slide usually keeps getting shown after a single image has gone quiet.

The other advantage is room. A single image has to land in one glance. Ten slides let you open with a problem, work through it, and finish with a next step. That is why teaching, breakdowns and before-and-after posts do so well in this format.

There is also a second chance built in. Some platforms reshow a carousel with a later slide as the cover for people who scrolled past, so a weak opening frame is not fatal the way it is for one image.

How to structure a carousel people finish

Slide one earns the swipe or nothing else matters. Make it a specific claim, or a question the reader cannot answer yet. "5 tips for growth" loses to "The 4 words that killed my last launch" every time.

Middle slides get one idea each, written so they still make sense alone. People screenshot single slides and send them to a friend. Keep each one near 25 words. A carousel is a rhythm, not a document.

The last slide asks for something: a follow, a comment, a link. One ask. Two competing asks get you neither, which I have proven to myself more than once.

What size should a carousel post be?

Portrait 4:5 at 1080x1350 takes the most feed space you can take without being cropped, so it is the sane default. Square 1080x1080 is the one to use when the same file has to work in several places. Vertical 9:16 belongs to photo carousels that sit next to full screen video.

Whatever you choose, keep every slide on the same ratio. Mixed ratios get padded or trimmed differently and the swipe stops feeling like one post. This generator locks the deck to one canvas for that reason.

Before you export

  • Write all the slides as plain text first, then paste them in. Writing and designing at the same time is what turns a carousel into an hour of work.
  • Keep one visual idea per deck. Changing layout halfway through reads as a mistake rather than variety.
  • Put the words that matter in the top two thirds, away from interface overlays and the caption line.
  • Read the deck back at thumbnail size. A slide you cannot read small is a slide nobody reads in a feed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Carousel generator from PublishQ

Yes. Every template is free to use and export, with no signup, no watermark and no cap on how many carousels you make. It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.
Nowhere. The editor and the export both run on your device. Your text is never sent to a server, and the image files are drawn by your own browser.
Every slide is 1080px wide: 1080x1350 for 4:5, 1080x1080 for square, 1080x1920 for 9:16. Those are the sizes platforms want, so nothing is upscaled or softened.
Ten. That is the tightest limit among the platforms people post carousels to, so a ten slide deck is safe everywhere. TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and Threads all allow more if you split the deck up.
Yes. The slides are yours, for your own brand or for clients, including paid campaigns. Nothing needs to be credited back to us.
No. The template handles layout, spacing, type sizes and colour. You write the words and pick an accent colour, and every slide stays consistent on its own.
Yes. Upload the slides to PublishQ and schedule the carousel to the accounts you have connected. If you are signed in, the same generator inside the app saves the slides straight to your media library.

PublishQ

— me 👋

Hi, I'm Alexandro 👋

I left my Software Engineer role at Amazon to build tools that solve real problems — the kind big companies ignore because they read spreadsheets instead of using their own products.

I was spending over an hour daily just scheduling 2 shorts across 3 platforms — logging in, reformatting, uploading one by one. That felt broken. So I built PublishQPublishQ . Now I create 4 shorts in 3 minutes and schedule them to 4 platforms in under 30 seconds.

PublishQ is bootstrapped. No investors, no vanity metrics. I build what actually helps you — because I use it every day myself.

Thank you,

Alexandro
