Kanban board carousel generator

A kanban board carousel shows work moving between columns instead of listing it. Each swipe pulls one card from To review into Done, so the reader watches a process happen rather than reading a description of it.

5 slides is over the limit on Bluesky (4) and X (Twitter) (4). Those posts get rejected rather than trimmed, so hide or remove some, or split the carousel across more than one post.

This carousel lives in this browser. An account keeps it.

Everything you have typed here is stored on this device only, so it is gone the moment you clear your browser or switch to your phone. With a PublishQ account it belongs to you instead:

  • Your carousels are saved, so you can come back and edit them.
  • The images you upload stay in your media library.
  • Your logo is stored once and reused on every carousel.
  • Brand name, handle, and colours stop being retyped.

Why a board reads faster than a list

Anyone who has worked in the last decade recognises a board with columns on sight. No legend, no explanation. The reader spends their attention on your content instead of on decoding your layout, which is the quiet benefit of borrowing an interface people already use every day.

A board also carries something a list cannot: state. A card is not simply present, it is waiting, in progress or finished. When the same card visibly changes column between two slides, the movement says "progress" without a word of narration.

That is what holds attention here. The reader is not working through items, they are watching a queue drain, and a queue that is not empty yet is a reason to swipe again.

Structuring the cards

Write each card as a short noun phrase, the way a real ticket is titled. Long sentences break the illusion immediately, and a card packed with text is unreadable at feed size where the whole board has to fit in one frame.

Move one card per slide. If two move at once the reader cannot tell which one the slide is about, and steady progress turns into noise.

Order matters more here than in a plain list, because a board implies dependency. Whatever genuinely has to happen first belongs at the top of the queue.

What the kanban template is for

Use it for anything with stages: a launch sequence, an onboarding flow, a content pipeline, an audit you work through. It also suits posts about how you actually work, where the board is both the message and the medium.

Avoid it for single ideas, quotes and opinions. A board with one card is just a card, and the layout costs the reader a beat of interpretation that only pays off when there is real movement to show.

Before you export

  • Title cards like real tickets: short noun phrases, no full sentences.
  • Move exactly one card per slide so the progress is unambiguous.
  • Keep the visible card count low. A board that fits in one glance is a board that gets read.
  • End on an empty queue. A fully drained board is a satisfying last slide.

This tool is free, forever. No accounts, no paywalls, no catch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Kanban board carousel generator from PublishQ

A swipeable post laid out as a board with columns, where cards move from a waiting column into a done column as people swipe. It shows a process advancing instead of describing it.
Anything with stages or a fixed order: launch steps, onboarding flows, content pipelines, audits. It works poorly for single ideas and opinions, which have no movement to show.
Like real tickets, in short noun phrases rather than sentences. The whole board has to be legible in one frame at feed size, so a crowded card defeats the format.
Only a few per column. The template shows the top cards of each column so the board stays readable instead of shrinking the text to fit everything.
Because nobody has to be taught how to read it, so no attention goes on the design. The draining queue also gives a concrete reason to keep swiping.
Yes. Export as many boards as you like at full resolution, with no watermark and no account needed.

— me 👋

Hi, I'm Alexandro 👋

I left my Software Engineer role at Amazon to build tools that solve real problems — the kind big companies ignore because they read spreadsheets instead of using their own products.

I was spending over an hour daily just scheduling 2 shorts across 3 platforms — logging in, reformatting, uploading one by one. That felt broken. So I built PublishQPublishQ . Now I create 4 shorts in 3 minutes and schedule them to 4 platforms in under 30 seconds.

PublishQ is bootstrapped. No investors, no vanity metrics. I build what actually helps you — because I use it every day myself.

Thank you,

Alexandro
