Conversations get finished, essays get scrolled past

People are trained to read a message thread. There is a sender, a reply, and a small itch to know what was said next, and that itch is stronger than any hook you can write on a title slide.

The thread scrolling upward is the part that keeps the tension. Each new slide pushes the older messages behind the brand bar, so the deck always looks like it is going somewhere rather than restating itself.

What to put in the thread

Objections work best. The message on the left is what a client, a founder or a sceptic actually says, and your reply is the content. Nobody has to be named for it to feel real.

It also suits a story with a turn in it: the request that seemed small, the discovery halfway through, the thing that broke on Friday. Keep each message to one bubble, because a bubble the size of a paragraph is just a slide with rounded corners.

Do not fake a screenshot of a real person's account. Write the exchange as a conversation instead of impersonating anybody, and the post keeps its credibility if somebody asks.

Before you export

Keep bubbles short enough to read in one glance, the way real messages are.
Alternate sides so the reader can tell who is talking without labels.
Let the last message be the ask rather than a summary of the thread.
Do not put a real person in a made up conversation.
