Notes carry authority that slides do not
A slide says somebody prepared this for an audience. A page of notes says somebody worked this out for themselves and you are being shown the page, and the second one gets read more carefully.
The torn top edge is a small honesty signal. It implies the page came off a pad in the middle of something, which fits observations, objections and lessons better than a designed frame would.
What to write on the pad
Notes from a call, points from a book, what you would say to a client before they sign, questions to ask before hiring. Anything that genuinely started life as scribbling belongs here.
Keep the lines aligned to the rules. Short lines that sit on the ruled lines look right; a dense block that ignores them looks like a screenshot of a document, which loses the whole effect.
Before you export
- Write in the first person. Notes are private, so the voice should be too.
- Keep to a few short lines per page rather than filling the sheet.
- Number pages when the order matters, the way you would on a real pad.
- End on the note you would actually circle before the meeting finished.
