Facebook carousel generator

A Facebook carousel generator makes the images for a multi photo post, the album layout Facebook lays out as a grid people tap into. Write the slides here, export them, and post them to your page as one update.

  • Bluesky4
  • X (Twitter)4
  • Instagram10
  • Facebook20
  • LinkedIn20
  • Threads20
  • TikTok35

5 slides is over the limit on Bluesky (4) and X (Twitter) (4). Those posts get rejected rather than trimmed, so hide or remove some, or split the carousel across more than one post.

This carousel lives in this browser. An account keeps it.

Everything you have typed here is stored on this device only, so it is gone the moment you clear your browser or switch to your phone. With a PublishQ account it belongs to you instead:

  • Your carousels are saved, so you can come back and edit them.
  • The images you upload stay in your media library.
  • Your logo is stored once and reused on every carousel.
  • Brand name, handle, and colours stop being retyped.
  • Publish straight to every social account you connect — no downloading, no second tab.

Organic albums and ad carousels are not the same thing

Search for a Facebook carousel and half the results are about the ad format, the one with a headline and a link under each card. That is Ads Manager, and it needs a budget.

The organic version is a multi photo post. Facebook arranges the first few images as a collage and people tap in to see the rest, so the deck is read in two stages. This generator makes those images.

The practical difference is the cover. In an ad, every card gets its own headline. In an album, the collage is the headline, so the first image has to carry the whole post on its own.

Designing for the Facebook collage

Facebook crops the images in the collage. A photo that looks fine on its own can lose its bottom line once it is one tile of four, which is why text near the edge of a slide is risky here in a way it is not on Instagram.

Keep the important words centred and large. Assume the first view of each slide is a cropped square at the size of a playing card, and check the deck at that size before you post.

Facebook allows up to 20 images in one post. Sticking near ten keeps the collage readable and means the same deck works on Instagram without a second export.

Writing for a Facebook audience

Facebook skews to a wider, less specialist audience than LinkedIn or X, and the posts that do well are usually the ones that explain rather than assume. Spell out the jargon and lose nothing.

The post text sits above the album with more room than an Instagram caption, so it can genuinely set up the deck. Use it to say who the post is for in the first line.

Before you export

  • Design the first slide as the cover of a collage, not as the first page of a document.
  • Keep text away from slide edges, because the collage crops your tiles.
  • Stay near ten images so the album stays readable and reusable elsewhere.
  • Say who the post is for in the first line of the post text.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Facebook carousel generator from PublishQ

1080x1350 (4:5) is the tallest size the feed shows uncropped and works well as a collage tile. Square 1080x1080 is a good alternative when the same slides go to several platforms.
Up to 20 images in one organic multi photo post. Around ten keeps the collage legible and lets you reuse the same deck on Instagram.
No. The ad format is built in Ads Manager, needs a budget and puts a headline and link under each card. The organic version is a multi photo post, which is what these slides are for.
Because the first images are arranged as a collage, and tiles get trimmed to fit the layout. Keep your text centred and away from the edges so nothing important is cut.
Yes. Export the slides and schedule them to your connected Facebook page with PublishQ. The images publish together as a single post.
Yes, 4:5 suits both. Publishing to both accounts at once is one of the things PublishQ exists to do, so you upload the slides once.

— me 👋

Hi, I'm Alexandro 👋

I left my Software Engineer role at Amazon to build tools that solve real problems — the kind big companies ignore because they read spreadsheets instead of using their own products.

I was spending over an hour daily just scheduling 2 shorts across 3 platforms — logging in, reformatting, uploading one by one. That felt broken. So I built PublishQPublishQ . Now I create 4 shorts in 3 minutes and schedule them to 4 platforms in under 30 seconds.

PublishQ is bootstrapped. No investors, no vanity metrics. I build what actually helps you — because I use it every day myself.

Thank you,

Alexandro
