LinkedIn post previewer

A LinkedIn post previewer renders your post as a feed will: your text with the "see more" fold in it, your image inside LinkedIn’s own canvas, and the reaction and comment row underneath. It is the fastest way to check that the hook survives the fold.

The fold is the whole game on LinkedIn

A LinkedIn post takes 3,000 characters and shows a few lines of them before collapsing the rest behind "see more". Everyone who writes on LinkedIn knows this, and most people still write the hook in paragraph two. Seeing your own text in a card, at the width the card actually is, is the correction.

Line breaks change where the fold lands, which is why the format with a one line opener and a gap under it became a house style. It is not a trick, it is people optimising for the only part of the post the feed shows for free.

How LinkedIn treats your image

A single image is shown at the card width but never taller than LinkedIn’s own canvas, which is about 1:1.25. A portrait image taller than that is letterboxed rather than cropped, white behind a photo and dark grey behind a video. So a 9:16 graphic does not fill the card, it sits in the middle of it with bands on either side.

Attach more than one image and you get a horizontal row you scroll through instead. A post can carry up to 20 photos, though a native document is usually the better answer when you want people to page through slides.

Before you publish

  • Put the hook on line one and a blank line under it. That is what the feed shows before "see more".
  • Crop tall graphics to 4:5 or squarer. Anything taller is letterboxed and reads smaller than you designed it.
  • Skip the link in the body if reach matters to you, and put it in the first comment instead.
  • Read the preview at the card width, not at your document width. LinkedIn’s card is narrower than a text editor.

Everything you need to know about LinkedIn post previewer from PublishQ

Paste your text and attach your image on this page. The LinkedIn card on the right renders it at the real card width with the fold, the image canvas and the reaction row, without publishing anything.
3,000 characters. Only the first few lines are visible in the feed before LinkedIn collapses the rest behind "see more", so those lines carry the whole post.
LinkedIn caps how tall a single image can be at roughly 1:1.25. Anything taller than that is fitted inside the canvas rather than cropped, so bands appear beside it. Crop to 4:5 or squarer and the image fills the card.
Up to 20, shown as a row you scroll rather than a grid. For slide-style content a native document post usually reads better than a long image row.
Yes. The card layout is the same for a person and a Page, so the preview holds either way. PublishQ publishes to both when you connect the account.

— me 👋

Hi, I'm Alexandro 👋

I left my Software Engineer role at Amazon to build tools that solve real problems — the kind big companies ignore because they read spreadsheets instead of using their own products.

I was spending over an hour daily just scheduling 2 shorts across 3 platforms — logging in, reformatting, uploading one by one. That felt broken. So I built PublishQPublishQ . Now I create 4 shorts in 3 minutes and schedule them to 4 platforms in under 30 seconds.

PublishQ is bootstrapped. No investors, no vanity metrics. I build what actually helps you — because I use it every day myself.

Thank you,

Alexandro
