Code diff carousel generator

A diff carousel shows the change the way a pull request shows it: removed lines in red, added lines in green, line numbers down the gutter. Developers read diffs faster than explanations, so the format does the teaching for you.

5 slides is over the limit on Bluesky (4) and X (Twitter) (4). Those posts get rejected rather than trimmed, so hide or remove some, or split the carousel across more than one post.

This carousel lives in this browser. An account keeps it.

Everything you have typed here is stored on this device only, so it is gone the moment you clear your browser or switch to your phone. With a PublishQ account it belongs to you instead:

  • Your carousels are saved, so you can come back and edit them.
  • The images you upload stay in your media library.
  • Your logo is stored once and reused on every carousel.
  • Brand name, handle, and colours stop being retyped.
  • Publish straight to every social account you connect — no downloading, no second tab.

A diff is the native language of a code change

Every engineer reads diffs daily, so a red line above a green one needs no legend. The comparison lands before the caption is read, which is why this format survives being seen at speed.

It is also self limiting in a useful way. A diff only works when the change is small, so the template quietly forces you to pick the one change worth showing.

Choosing the change to show

Small, opinionated changes travel: a hook rewritten, a query fixed, a config that solved a problem, a test that catches a real bug. A twenty line refactor does not fit on a phone screen.

Say why in the supporting line. The diff shows what changed, and the reason it changed is the part that turns a screenshot into content worth following.

Before you export

  • Show one small change per slide. A long diff is illegible at feed size.
  • Keep the line numbers honest so the change looks like it came from real code.
  • Explain why the change matters, since the diff already shows what it is.
  • Use the final slide for the result: the benchmark, the bug that stopped happening.

This tool is free, forever. No accounts, no paywalls, no catch.

I build these solo. If you want to support my work, donating a coffee would be highly appreciated! ☕

Everything you need to know about Code diff carousel generator from PublishQ

A carousel laid out like a version control diff, with removed lines marked in red, added lines in green and line numbers in the gutter.
A handful of lines. Anything longer stops being readable on a phone, so pick the smallest change that still makes the point.
Yes, if your audience is technical. Engineers engage with a concrete change far more than with generic advice about clean code.
You can split it into one change per slide, which usually reads better than the real diff. Keep the order the same as the reasoning, not the file order.
No. Everything renders in your browser and exports free at full resolution.

— me 👋

Hi, I'm Alexandro 👋

I left my Software Engineer role at Amazon to build tools that solve real problems — the kind big companies ignore because they read spreadsheets instead of using their own products.

I was spending over an hour daily just scheduling 2 shorts across 3 platforms — logging in, reformatting, uploading one by one. That felt broken. So I built PublishQPublishQ . Now I create 4 shorts in 3 minutes and schedule them to 4 platforms in under 30 seconds.

PublishQ is bootstrapped. No investors, no vanity metrics. I build what actually helps you — because I use it every day myself.

Thank you,

Alexandro
