Facebook publishes ordinary video uploads as Reels.

Formats: MP4, MOV
Maximum file size: 4 GB
Reel duration: No documented limit
Story duration: 60 seconds
Story minimum resolution: 540×960

Post text: 63,206 characters
Destinations: Facebook Pages, not personal profiles
Mixed albums: Images only; video cannot be mixed in

Common publishing errors

Facebook publishing errors

Find the returned code or the closest matching failure below, then fix the cause before retrying the post.

190 OAuthException

The Page access token is expired, revoked, or otherwise invalid.

Fix: Reconnect the Facebook account and obtain a fresh Page access token.

200–299 API Permission

The app or user does not have the permission required to publish to the Page.

Fix: Check Page administration access and restore the required publishing permissions.

506 Duplicate Post

Facebook rejected content that duplicates the previous Page post.

Fix: Change the text or media before publishing the post again.

368 Temporarily Blocked

Meta temporarily blocked the publishing action for a policy or abuse signal.

Fix: Stop retrying, review the account for restrictions, and try again later.

Photo processing failed (400)

Facebook could not read the image because it is too large, damaged, or encoded in an unsupported way.

Fix: Export the image again as JPEG or PNG and re-upload it to PublishQ. Keep it within Facebook’s documented 10 MB limit.

Unable to fetch video file (400)

Facebook could not retrieve the video before its download window closed.

Fix: Retry once. If Facebook still cannot fetch it, re-upload the video to PublishQ and publish the new media item.

Identity confirmation required (403)

Facebook requires an account security check before it will allow Page publishing.

Fix: Open Facebook as the Page administrator, complete the identity check, then retry the post.

Why Facebook uploads fail

The destination is a personal profile instead of a Facebook Page with admin access.
An extreme source image triggers an unhelpful Graph API error during media processing.
A multi-photo album contains video or an animated GIF is attached.
